EVH Brown Sound2 Pickup Position: Bridge Pickup Type: Humbucker Requires Expansion Pack: Yes Artist: Van Halen Author: mikefont Comments: This is a tweak of the original EVH Brown Sound rig that I made a long time ago. It's almost the same rig as before (using the Treadplate Vintage amp) except that I added some Speaker Breakup, the White Boost (instead of the Green JRC), and I switched the delay from the Tape delay to the Dyn Delay (set to PONG at 395ms). Plexi Brown Pickup Position: Bridge Pickup Type: Humbucker Requires Expansion Pack: Yes Artist: VH Author: teletotheworld Comments: **PLEASE READ** This is a pretty close approximation of the early VH Brown Sound with the "right" guitar/pickups/BAC, etc. ;) This is the rig I used for the clip of "Ice Cream Man" under the discussion topic "The Brown Sound." NOTE: The effects loop block in this rig is configured as a boost to the amp block so if your effects loop is already in use then you'll have to tweak. New Brown Chimp Pickup Position: Neck Pickup Type: Single Coil Requires Expansion Pack: Yes Artist: The Chimp Author: crhfish Comments: Modified crhfish's New Brown to fix the following: 1. The name had (.tfx-) at the end. You can't have the dash at the end or it won't load. 2. The volume was way too hot, always clipping. I lowered the Amp Output to compensate, and added an optional Dyn 3 Compressor post-amp which is basically transparent. You should find less clipping whether the Comp is on or not. Great preset otherwise, crhfish! No other changes were made, and none of this should affect the tone at all. You'll just need to turn things up a bit higher, but now it will sound cleaner.
